Dr. Ron Paul And The Newsletters From Hell
We are seeing all the attention the corporate media is giving to a few racial comments contained in the newsletters from twenty two years ago that Ron Paul had his name on.
- You can see and hear Ron Paul addressing racism on CNN when this same issue came up 4 years ago.
- For the best explanation why the policies Ron Paul is against (unlike all the other candidates) are inherently racist, click here.
- NAACP President, Nelson Linder says “Ron Paul is NOT a racist.”
Never mind that the media is repeating what they did when he was running for president four years ago, but clearly the “establishment” is absolutely freaking out about Dr. Ron Pauls recent surge in the polls. This is no big surprise since this is exactly what they did months ago when he placed second and just a few votes behind Michelle Bachmann when the press completely ignored him and then proceeded to elevate those that came in far behind him. In fact, they heaped more attention on the third place candidate (Pawlenty) who was so far behind Ron Paul that his poor showing convinced him to completely drop out of the race! Jon Stewart did a magnificent piece then by exposing how blatantly corrupt the media was by ignoring Ron Paul.
Here is why I don’t believe Ron Paul wrote that racial stuff in those newsletters from 22 years ago…
1) I have not found anything he has said or done in Congress that even remotely suggests him to be a racist. Nothing. In fact, I’ve seen Ron Paul numerous times praising Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Gandhi for their peaceful and even heroic efforts to change the status quo by practicing peaceful non-violent demonstrations. He considers them to be heroes. As a doctor, he frequently treated minority patients for free that couldn’t afford his services instead of using Medicaid.
2) Libertarianism has nothing to do with your personal beliefs beyond how you interact with others. If your interactions with others consistently abide with the “non-aggression principle,” then it really doesn’t matter what you think. Ron Paul is a Libertarian. True, he is running as a Republican, but philosophically he is a Libertarian. Libertarianism doesn’t segregate people into groups or discriminate against individuals or groups and neither does Libertarianism grant preferential treatment to individuals or groups. The philosophy of Libertarianism can be summed up like this: You should be free to do whatever you choose to do as long as you don’t harm another individual in the process.
3) Ron Paul had contributing writers for this newsletter, but could anyone, and especially those in the public eye, be that negligent now when everything is online and shared virally to millions around the world within hours? No way, but those were pre-internet paper newsletters and Ron Paul was a super busy OBGYN doctor then with his own practice. It really doesn’t seem far-fetched to me that he didn’t read everything that was being written in his name and wasn’t aware of them until ten years after they had been written.
4) Dr. Paul is real. I realize being “real” is subjective, but after you’ve seen him speak numerous times (Go to Youtube), you will begin to see that he never changes. He never says or does things for the sake of political expediency. This is especially obvious in the debates where you can see all the other coached and polished phony politicians with there phony one line sound bites. My point is that I think the guy is for real, and he is the only “for real” candidate I’ve seen in my entire life.
The way I see it you have four choices…
1) Don’t vote.
2) Vote for one of the status-quo neocon candidates because you choose to judge someone by 8 sentences (out of hundreds of thousand of sentences in a few newsletters) instead of his 30 year history of liberty for all.
3) Vote for Barack Obama who’s record proves that he is also status-quo and hope when the country goes down in flames it will be blamed on socialism instead of Libertarianism.
3) Vote for the one candidate who’s message for the last thirty years has been consistently Libertarian.
