Ron Paul to Attend ‘Hispanics in Politics’ Event in Las Vegas
Shares inclusive message of liberty, prosperity with fastest-growing population and voting segment
HENDERSON, Nevada – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today details of its Las Vegas event held in partnership with ‘Hispanics in Politics’ and Prensa Latina Las Vegas.
The event will be held tomorrow, February 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, located at 250 North Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101-4561. The event is free and open to the public.
“The ‘Hispanics in Politics’ organization is a great conduit to reach out to the Hispanic community in the greater Las Vegas area. Within the last month, 800-plus constitutional conservatives of Hispanic ancestry have registered to become Republicans in Nevada. The Ron Paul campaign has identified 160 of those new registrants as Ron Paul supporters. In the last month our organization has trained 27 Hispanics to serve as at-large precinct captains working in their voting precincts as well as in the community,” said Fernando Cortes, Hispanic Outreach Director and Deputy Controller for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.
“The principles of personal liberty, strong family values, and vision for economic prosperity resonate with me as both an American and an immigrant from Mexico. Dr. Paul champions these principles and it is refreshing to support and work for someone who has been advocating freedom for a longer time period than I’ve been alive,” Mr. Cortes said, referring to the 12-term Congressman from Texas as “doctor” because Rep. Paul is by trade an OB/GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.
“Our country is in need of leadership that will work to protect our freedoms rather than work to restrict them. A Ron Paul presidency will ensure that liberty lives and thrives in America,” said Mr. Cortes.
The full weight of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign has been brought to bear in the 50-state effort to include Hispanics – the fastest-growing population and voting segment – into the political process in both the nominating process and general election plans.
“Ron Paul’s support among Hispanic Republicans makes sense since Hispanics desire the same reforms that their non-Hispanic counterparts want—strong purchasing power for their hard-earned dollars, a regulatory climate hospitable to business and job growth, and personal and economic liberties returned so decision-making on important life matters occurs in the home and not in Washington,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
